Anthony Johnson is a Senior Account Executive at Direct Impact. Johnson brings several years of experience in community engagement, politics, and public affairs to Direct Impact.
Before Burson, Johnson worked on political campaigns and with both non-profits and government agencies at the state and local levels. Johnson started his political background as a Field Representative for California State Assemblymember Phillip Chen. He was tasked with representing the Assemblymember for all Orange County, Los Angeles County, and San Bernardino County events and legislative meetings, coordinating special events for over 500,000 constituents in the district, and led the unemployment issue cases during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, resolving thousands of claims.
After working in the State Assembly, Johnson worked as a public affairs specialist at the Transportation Corridor Agencies. He performed and oversaw all community outreach activities related to the Agencies’ public work projects, specifically a multi-agency and multi-billion-dollar highway project.
Over the last several years, Johnson has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. He was featured in West Coast Magazine’s “40Leaders Under 40” and their “31 People to Know” articles. Recently, he was featured in the Yorba Linda Neighbors Magazine for his community work to the City of Yorba Linda. Additionally, he received the prestigious Dr. Shui Tang Award for Aspiring Local Government Professional from the University of Southern California (USC).
Johnson is a native of Orange County, CA, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from the California State University, Fullerton, and studied at Kingston University, England. He also received his Master of Public Administration degree from USC. He currently serves as President of the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Co-Chair of the Love Yorba Linda Committee, President-Elect of the Yorba Linda Sunrise Rotary, and on the City of Yorba Linda Traffic Commission and was Chair of the Commission for 2021. Johnson is the youngest person to serve on the Traffic Commission for the City.
